Product Overview

The safety gear is one of the most important mechanical safety devices in an elevator system. It works in conjunction with the governor. When the elevator overspeeds during descent, the governor triggers the safety gear, and the safety gear wedges instantly clamp onto the guide rails, emergency stopping the car to prevent a fall accident. It serves as the last line of defense for elevator safety.

· Instantaneous Braking Structure: Designed for low-speed elevators. Responds quickly, with wedges instantly locking onto the guide rails for short braking distance.

· Synchronized Dual Guide Shoe Linkage: Left and right safety gears are synchronized via a linkage rod mechanism, ensuring uniform braking force on both sides of the car to prevent tilting or jamming.

Installation & Service

During installation, ensure uniform clearance between wedges and guide rails (typically 1.5–2.5mm) and synchronization of left and right safety gear linkage rods. A type test report is provided with delivery. Installation clearance adjustment guidance is available. It is recommended to perform a safety gear linkage test annually.
